Small Groups
Our vision at Ohio City UMC is to be a community center that connects people to God, each Other, and the World. The second step in this process is connecting to Others. This is the primary focus of our small groups. Jesus taught us that we are to "Love the Lord your God will all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself."
We believe that one of the best ways to fulfill that commandment, to connect with God and Others, is through small groups. That is why small groups are the heartbeat of Ohio City UMC. The average number of people in each group is twelve, which is just right for an effective, life-changing small group experience. Our goal is that all of our small groups will become increasingly smaller as we grow in accountability to each other. Small Groups not only take place in homes, but also at the church, in learning environments, as well as at the local coffee shop or on the softball field. Men, women, students and children all have opportunities to connect in a Small Group.
