Connection classes

 

We are continuously looking at how we can help people connect to each other.  Every couple of months we provide connection classes, where people can come and learn more about our church.  One of the major things that seperates us from most churches is that everything we do is about our connections.  With an eye toward keeping things simple, all of our ministries exist to fulfill our mission and vision of being a community center that connects people to God, Each Other, and the World.  Due to this fact, we strive to have all of our programs and events focused on our key growth steps or connections: C1 - Connecting to God, C2 - Connecting to Others, and C3 - Connecting to the World. 

 

 

 

We understand that growth is more relational than informational.  Information never changed a person's life, but encounters do.  These vital connections have at their center the establishment of relationships.  By developing meaningful relationships, people find that at Ohio City UMC, God is real, relevant, and reaching.  Childcare is provided (with advanced notice) for all of our connection classes.  If you are interested in attending one of our connection classes, please email Pastor Derek at stemens@gmail.com.

 

CP - Connecting Point is where the journey begins.  Come have lunch with Pastor Derek and hear about the vision of Ohio City UMC and our desire to be a community church.  Find out how you can be part of God's story.  

C1 - Connecting to God focuses on helping us learn the spiritual habits that will help us connect to God on a daily basis.

C2 - Connecting to Others shows us how we can connect to others through a small group experience.

C3 - Connecting to the World helps us discover our gifts and abilities and how to connect to the world through ministry. 

 

MP4 - Ministry Partnership.  This is our version of a membership class.  MP4 helps you decide if you're ready to become a fully devoted ministry partner of Ohio City UMC.
